We are searching for a Housekeeper / Cook to support a private residence in Manly, Sydney, with time throughout the year spent at a second property and/or yacht on Hamilton Island. This live-in position would suit a candidate who takes pride in maintaining a well-run home and providing warm, thoughtful service to principals who value discretion, consistency and high standards.
This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in private households or on superyachts, someone who enjoys running a home to a 5-star standard. You will oversee the day-to-day functioning of the household, including housekeeping, laundry, organisation, errands and preparing evening meals.
You will be energetic, composed, proactive and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and initiative. The role includes separate live-in accommodation and offers a stable, long-term opportunity within a well-structured household for someone who takes genuine pride in their work.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook evening meals for two principals and assist with dinner parties when guests visit
- Full housekeeping to a high standard including deep cleaning
- Laundry and wardrobe management, including ironing
- Accept deliveries, welcome guests and maintain household presentation at all times
- Grocery shopping, dry cleaning, post office and other household errands
- Maintain outdoor terraces, BBQ area and outdoor settings
- Organise and maintain fridges, storage areas, pantries and cupboards
- Follow existing household systems and weekly plans already in place
- Travel with the family to Hamilton Island on occasions and carry out the above duties
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in a similar private household or high-end hospitality environment
- Confident home cook with the ability to plan and prepare balanced meals
- High attention to detail and strong knowledge of laundry and fabric care
- Able to work discreetly, autonomously and anticipate needs in advance
- Warm, pleasant and composed with a calm and professional presence
- Physically energetic and organised with a strong work ethic and initiative
- Comfortable with occasional weekend work and household guests, including children
- Full working rights in Australia
- Police check and WWCC
- Excellent references
