We are seeking an experienced, warm and proactive Family Assistant to support a busy, professional family with two young children aged 3 and 7 years.
This is a varied and rewarding role combining childcare, healthy meal preparation and household management. The family are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their role, is naturally organised and thrives in creating a calm, well-run home.
You will be a great team player, as you would be working alongside the family's Executive Assistant and Cleaner. You will play an integral role in ensuring the household operates seamlessly. Your responsibilities will include supporting the children's daily routines, assisting with housekeeping, preparing fresh nutritious meals and overseeing the day-to-day organisation of the home.
The ideal candidate is confident, self-motivated and able to anticipate the family's needs with minimal direction. You will have exceptional attention to detail, a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine love of working with children. The family also have a friendly German Shepherd, so applicants must be comfortable around dogs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- School and day-care drop-offs and pick-ups
- Children’s care, supervision and engagement in age-appropriate activities
- Preparing healthy, nutritious family meals
- Grocery shopping and household errands
- Kitchen resets and maintaining an organised pantry
- Laundry management including washing, folding and putting away clothing
- General household tidying and maintaining a well-presented home
- Assisting with pet care including feeding and occasional trips to the groomer
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household
- Liaising with the family’s Executive Assistant and cleaner as required
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as a Family Assistant, Household Manager or experienced Nanny
- Genuine love of children with a nurturing, calm and engaging nature
- Excellent cooking skills with confidence preparing healthy family meals (Mediterranean-inspired cuisine highly regarded)
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and the ability to work independently
- Professional, reliable and adaptable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Current Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record
- Current First Aid and CPR (preferred)
- Valid Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Excellent contactable references
- Full working rights in Australia (Not suitable for temporary visa holders)
