A full-time opportunity is available for an experienced and proactive Family Assistant to join a warm, dynamic household of five, located in Middle Ridge, near Toowoomba, QLD.

This is a live in position (separate accommodation), working for a wonderful family and working alongside a large team. There is a lot of opportunity within this role ideally you will be an educational focused nanny / housekeeper, someone that enjoys working in a busy home and takes pride in organising and keeping a household running smoothly.  Someone with a passion for helping others and someone that loves what a country lifestyle has to offer.

The role involves caring for three children aged 2, 4, and 10, with a strong emphasis on educational activities, particularly for the eldest child, who is home schooled (Mum will manage the home schooling). The successful candidate will also oversee general housekeeping, laundry, mopping, vacuuming, changing of linen and the daily needs for keeping the main residence running smoothly, and assist in managing additional properties (staff residences).  You would also be required to cook healthy homestyle meals and snacks for the children and assistance with meal preparation for the family meals would be very much welcomed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support 3 children and encourage learning through engaging, everyday activities
• Plan and participate in outdoor play and hands-on learning experiences
• Prepare healthy, child-friendly meals and assist with broader family meal preparation, including for dietary needs
• Transport children to and from appointments and extracurricular activities
• Manage housekeeping duties in the main home and communal areas of staff residences
• Cleaning of living areas including vacuuming, mopping, kitchens, bathrooms, and changing linens
• Oversee laundry, ironing, and household organisation (pantry, wardrobes, etc.)
• Monitor and replenish household supplies as needed
• Run occasional errands such as post office runs or dry cleaning
• Assist with the care of family pets, including a border collie, chickens, budgies, and a miniature donkey
• Supervise tradespeople and assist with minor administrative tasks
• Provide occasional babysitting, especially on Friday evenings
• Work independently while coordinating with other household staff

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar position
• Strong focus on educational development and child wellbeing
• Energetic, and proactive
• Engaging and understanding of young children
• Working With Children Check (WWCC), current First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid police check and driver’s licence with clean driving history
• Full working rights in Australia
• Comfortable with animals and rural living
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Professional, discreet, and warm personality
• NDA Required
